Description: Originally opened in 1941, the Marion Theater has been a beloved landmark for Ocala residents and visitors alike. It has had a colorful history of being closed and re-opened many times (i.e. In March 2007, In conjunction with the film "Wild Hogs," John Travolta and Kelly Preston held a motorcycle-themed party/movie premiere that raised about $15,000 to help renovate the theater). The Marion Theater was recently renovated and and had a grand "re-opening" on May 26, 2010. This is the first time since the early 70s that the theater will be showing new movie releases.
